Rainbow Bridge

This is a page dedicated to those companions who have either retired from visiting or have passed over the rainbow bridge. These articles are written from the heart and tell stories of our canine heroes at their best and their worst. Please take the time to join us in reliving those wonderful memories.

We had to say an early good-bye this past year to one of a team of Caring Paws member, Barbara Greenfields pup Clark. Clark was one a great team consisting of himself, Lois and Mingo. Clark was afflicted with cancer this past year and passed over the Rainbow Bridge. His big golden smile will be missed by those of us at Caring Paws and those who's lives he touched everyday.
It is with a heavy heart I say one of the original Caring Paws members Ch Inisfree's Redrum of Chelsea CD, CGC,.TDI aka "Redrum" has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Redrum was one of the original Caring Paws members. He was one of the most vesital dogs I have ever met. He began his life as a sled dog on a 5 Siberian Husky Dog Team. From there he Met Our Member Carol Capossela and became her special boy... Please read more.

I want to thank you especially for your work. It helped me do some good around here. It may seem like drudgery to you sometimes, but it means the world to me. I was a found dog. My paws were cut, I was hungry, and I was abandoned. A kind Dad named Stephen found me, brought me home, fed me and cleaned me up... Please read more.

Skimo joined out family in January 1992, when she was one and one half years old. She was born and lived in Spokane, Washington until 1992, when her owners relocated to New Jersey but could not keep her as they were moving to an apartment. Although I love all animals, especially dogs, I was not looking to adopt one as I already had two dogs...Please read more.

" Misha embodied the essence of a therapy dog. First and foremost, Misha was my own personal therapy dog. I got Misha during the darkest period of my life. I had lost my health to a chronic illness along with the ability to work (and all the financial, achievement and social benefits that go along with working) and to play (I skied, roller-skated, worked out at the gym, etc.). I had also lost my fiancé to cancer and all our hopes and dreams for the future..." Please read more.

"Tori was a 'personal' therapy dog to my Mom, who is head-injured and confined to a wheelchair from an auto accident. Tori had a special love for my mother that was awesome to witness. After dinner at Mom's, Tori would 'ask' (one bark) to be put on Mom's lap. She would lie there while we talked and had coffee. If Tori was not on Mom's lap, she was always at her feet, or lying under her wheelchair. When it was time to leave, Tori would climb up on Mom's shoulder, not wanting to go." Please read more.

Just This Side Of Heaven is A Place Called Rainbow Bridge...

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to
Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they
can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are
warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were
hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our
dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for
one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into
the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins
to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling
together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your
face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the
trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
